POSITION OVERVIEW  

The Systems Administrator will implement, administer, and support employees and the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support and service s . The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all IT-related systems , their maintenance and security, for remote employees, and at all Charter Research locations .   

RESPONSIBILITIES  

1. Monitor and maintain all computers, applications , systems , networks , and cloud resources utilized by Charter Research .   

1. Install, configure, and test hardware and software components.  

1. Diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems.  

1. Provide IT support and training to users in person, by phone, and by electronic communications .  

1. Implement and oversee the security of systems, networks, cloud resources and enterprise d ata .  

1. Manage user accounts , access rights , SSO, and other identity tasks .  

1. Ensure data storage is secure and backed up regularly ; manage disaster recovery program.  

1. Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.  

1. Manage IT resources and recommend the purchase of services and equipment when needed or to improve Charter Research’s business and services .  

1. Manage compan y email security ; initiatives around phishing, security training, and best practices.  

1. Develop and m aintain system documentation , policies , and procedures .  

1. Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers, external vendors , and service providers.  

1. Act as a t echnical consultant for business leader projects ( i.e., vendor evaluations, automation ) .  

1. Provide on-site support at Charter Research locations in The Villages and Orlando, Florida ; provide on-site support for additional locations , as needed.  

1. Have a passion for and keep abreast of new technologies .  

1. Perform other duties as assigned.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  

1. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and related software .   

1. Proficient in the latest enterprise s ystems , directory services, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, and device management.   

1. Solid understanding of networks, firewalls, VPN, and related technologies.  

1. Previous experience supporting technology needs of organizations and direct customer support .  

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

1. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  

1. Excellent analytical and management skills .   

1. Excellent interpersonal skills.  

QUALIFICATIONS  

Education & Experience  

1. At least five years of relevant work experience required .  

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field, preferred.  

1. Three or more years of experience managing and supporting Microsoft online environments and directory services, including applications, policies, and integrations , preferred.  

1. Three or more years of experience implementing and supporting MDM, helpdesk applications and workflows, building and deploying hardware using consistent and secure baselines , preferred.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  

1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  

1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move hardware including large printers, laptops, monitors, switches; work in network closets, under desks, and routing cables.  

1. Ability to drive to Charter Research sites in The Villages and Orlando 2-3 times per week.  

1. Ability to travel to other sites as needed.
