Express Scripts by Evernorth’s Regulated Markets Summer Internship Program is designed to assign you projects that have a lasting impact on our business – which touches millions of people across the globe. 
As an intern, you'll get an inside look at the work happening within Regulated Markets, while working next to some of the best in the industry. Program activities, include an inside look at how health plans are making decisions and the impact of regulations that are changing the industry. You’ll also have the opportunity to network with employees across the organization to prepare you for a full-time career.
Where You’ll Work
As an Express Scripts by Evernorth Intern, you’re able to make a real impact, while growing and learning more about the pharmacy benefit and healthcare industry. Supporting departments within the Regulated Markets division, you will work closely with several teams to positively impact healthcare and regulatory outcomes for Express Scripts by Evernorth clients.
During the 10-week summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across the business while learning from some of our brightest and most innovative employees.
Schedule: You must be available to work 40 hours per week beginning in May, 2026 through July, 2026.
What You’ll Do
Learn about and provide support to multiple Regulated Markets teams including but not limited to:
Audit Support
Call Center / Grievance
Clinical Consultation
Coverage Determination and Review
Issue Management
Evaluate identified issues for compliance impact
Participate in health plan forums to learn about upcoming regulatory impacts
Complete case research to support audits and audit requests
Research and respond to client requests regarding regulatory impacts
Application of skills learned in each area through a variety of projects and tasks
Perform other administrative duties and recruiting tasks, as necessary
Qualifications
Junior or senior-level college students majoring in a healthcare related field.
Persistent, positive attitude toward following up, tracking progress and successfully working through challenges.
Strong project management, organization & analytical skills, along with solid written & verbal communication.
Easily cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal & external stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point), along with ability to quickly learn & use other critical technologies (i.e., internal systems).
