Job Summary: The Tutor is an active participant in the CLC Tutoring Center, tutoring students in writing, reading, English language and other skills as needed. The tutor participates in staff development opportunities, contributes to center projects, and helps promote the center within the CLC community.

Job Description: - Tutor CLC students in writing, reading, English language and/or other skills as needed.
- Tutor in multiple modalities (face to face, online, and asynchornous).
- Recommend appropriate learning strategies in basic skills.
- Present class orientations describing center services.
- Lead study groups as needed.
- Refer students to support services when appropriate.
- Document tutoring sessions and complete other required reporting.
- Participate in staff development opportunities and in the tutor evaluation process.
- Participate in center projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher
- Proficiency in subject(s) to be tutored
- Ability to tutor in multiple modalities (face-to-face and online).
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to assess student learning needs and determine appropriate learning strategies.
Desired Qualifications - Bilingual Spanish
- Previous tutoring experience
- Proficient in MS Office
- Willingness to work at multiple campus locations (Lakeshore, Southlake, Grayslake)
