Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Manager to join a reputable public accounting firm in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves leading tax compliance efforts, providing strategic tax planning, and cultivating strong relationships with clients across various industries. Responsibilities: - Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy. - Develop and implement effective tax strategies to help clients achieve favorable financial outcomes. - Guide and mentor team members by assigning tasks, fostering growth, and ensuring deadlines are met. - Stay informed about updates in tax laws and regulations to provide clients with accurate advice and compliance solutions. - Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering tailored tax solutions and effective communication. - Manage annual income tax provisions and ensure compliance with applicable standards. - Utilize software tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax to streamline tax processes. - Collaborate with clients on corporate tax return preparation and entity formation strategies. - Conduct detailed analyses to identify tax-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks. - Ensure all tax-related documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits or reviews. Requirements - Proven experience in tax management within a public accounting firm. - Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements. - Proficiency in tax software systems including CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax. - Expertise in preparing income tax provisions and corporate tax returns. - Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in a detail-oriented environment. - Excellent analytical skills with a focus on identifying tax planning opportunities. - Effective communication skills for building client relationships and conveying complex tax concepts. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
