Talent Retention and Engagement Coordinator Location: Cape Girardeau, MO Department/Program: Human Resources Primary Shift: M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (some pre-planned evenings as needed) Job Classification: Full -Time FLSA Classification: Exempt Salary: $43,500 - $45,000 Travel Required (Y/N, %): Y, 30% Why you’ll love this position: Are you passionate about creating a positive workplace culture and making a meaningful impact in your community? As the Talent Retention and Engagement Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the employee and volunteer experience from recruitment through retention. You’ll work both independently and as part of a supportive team, using your HR expertise to drive compliance, recognition, and performance support.   • Lead recruitment efforts for employees and volunteers, including job postings, educating key personnel on best practices, and coordinating the full recruitment cycle.
  • Represent the agency at job fairs, volunteer events, and community outreach opportunities to promote engagement and attract talent.
  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation sessions for new hires and volunteers, ensuring a welcoming and informative onboarding experience.
  • Administer employee and volunteer recognition programs to foster engagement, morale, and long-term retention.
  • Assist in the performance management process by tracking evaluations and providing tools and guidance to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as volunteer regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate data in the HRIS and volunteer management systems, ensuring confidentiality and system integrity.
  • Generate reports and metrics related to recruitment, retention, engagement, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and independently lead or support projects that enhance organizational culture and operational effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The identity of the agency is clearly Catholic, and as such, Catholic Charities adheres to the social and moral teachings of the Catholic Church All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • Associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, volunteer coordination, or talent engagement.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or Volunteer Management (e.g., CVA).
  • Experience representing an organization at job fairs, community events or volunteer outreach initiatives.
