SH 674 Senior Medical Writer Remote
Hours: 30 35 hours per week
Term: 6 Months with extension
Summary:
Position Summary: The Senior Medical Writer is responsible for developing and writing medical content for their assigned account(s) and works in conjunction with all internal teams to ensure that the client vision is achieved and content is medically accurate. The Senior Medical Writer is responsible for both de novo and derivative development of strategic resources of varying scope and target audience.
Content Development
- Serve as medical point person on assigned accounts
- Under limited supervision, develop high quality, medically accurate content in print or digital format for a wide range of medical Communication resources in keeping with strategic brand imperatives
- Deliverables include but are not limited to:
- Value proposition and Competitive intelligence slide decks
- Targeted banner ads and ashcards
- EHR Instructions and order sets
- Internal eld team training resources
- Deliver projects as scoped in the project creative briefs including iterations of outlines and manuscripts per established timelines
- Document updates in addressing feedback provided during live and o ine reviews by Clinical Services leadership, internal team, and clients and propose direction and strategic approaches as needed
- Conduct literature reviews and manage project speci c reference audits and upkeep within internal and client reference management systems
- Develop annotations per internal and brand referencing standards to support promotional claims and data interpretations Attend medical, legal, regulatory (MLR) review meetings and participate, as necessary
- Ensure a constant high quality of work in line with science, good publication practice, and company rules and policies
Internal Team integration
- Ensure professional, proactive and collaborative communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain availability during Central time working hours
- Meet with Clinical Services manager at least bi-weekly and as needed to provide feedback, review capacity, and monitor evolution of projects
- Review morning and end-of-day Hot Sheets for speci c, time-sensitive tasks per project
- Participate in all internal team meetings, including project kick-o meetings, weekly status meetings, client meetings, and internal brainstorm/review meetings
- Participate in external team meetings with brand clients as necessary to present deliverables and discuss feedback
- Contribute ideas for new business proposals and tactical planning within assigned accounts
- Promote and adhere to Client's workplace values known as Client's Principles (Client Service, Purpose, Accountability, Mutual Respect and Collaboration)
Required Education :
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences discipline; advanced degree preferred
Required Experience: - 2 4 years of experience in the medical communication, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
Required Skills: - Command of American Medical Association (AMA) style
- Strong pro ciency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft O ce 365 applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams
- Strong familiarity with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar
Required Competencies: - Strong written and verbal communication
- High analytical ability
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts for a variety of managed care audiences
- Ability to prioritize deadline-sensitive projects and juggle competing client priorities
- Team- and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications: - Expertise in gathering, evaluating, and summarizing healthcare business and scientific literature and insights data for a variety of managed care audiences
- Working knowledge of managed markets, healthcare, and the healthcare delivery system; health reform legislation; and/or managed care experience (HMO, MCO, PBM, etc.)
- Ability to develop engaging promotional content
