Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of advanced quality control systems for the fabrication of hydraulic steel structures and bridge components, ensuring full compliance with AWS D1.5 standards and all critical project specifications.
• Oversee comprehensive inspection and testing programs to verify that all welds, materials, and assemblies meet or exceed rigorous quality benchmarks and client expectations, directly contributing to successful project delivery.
• Ensure strict adherence to USACE and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards for hydraulic and structural steel components, minimizing risk and maintaining the highest standards of safety and structural integrity.
• Collaborate closely with project engineers, welders, and fabricators to promptly identify, evaluate, and resolve complex quality challenges, implementing effective corrective actions that promote continual process improvement.
• Enhance and streamline quality documentation systems, including detailed inspection reports and nonconformance records, ensuring precise data management and valuable insights for future project optimization.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing quality control team, delivering expert training and strategic guidance on AWS D1.5 and advanced quality methodologies to drive technical excellence and professional growth.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in fabrication quality control for hydraulic steel structures and bridge structural steel, consistently delivering superior project outcomes.
• Deep knowledge and practical application of AWS D1.5 code and stringent quality standards for USACE and DOT bridge projects, ensuring full compliance and technical excellence.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving abilities, adept at guiding teams and resolving complex technical and operational challenges.
• Proven skill in accurately reading and interpreting intricate engineering drawings and specifications, transforming technical requirements into effective, actionable quality control plans.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent advanced certification highly preferred, reflecting a strong commitment to professional excellence and industry best practices.
• Extensive experience in Radiographic Testing (RT) of welds, showcasing advanced proficiency in non-destructive examination (NDE) methods and quality assurance processes.
