Job Title: Producer - WDBO Orlando Radio

 

Position Overview

Orlando’s WDBO has an immediate Fulltime opening for a Producer. The Producer will report to the Director of Branding and Programming. The Producer is responsible for guiding and coordinating the hiring of talk show producers and board operators, daily Producer of Orlando’s Morning News, content prep, recording, editing, hosting, and planning of daily and/or weekly and weekend shows. Responsible for the execution of live remotes, syndicated shows, breaking news and severe weather situations, and automation systems/scheduling. This person will be the fill-in host on various local on-air shows. This person must have strong organizational skills and be technically savvy. You must be able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, provide exceptional client customer service, and be able to function in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a professional tone and be able to receive constructive criticism. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Flawless technical execution (running the board) for live newscasts, syndicated talk shows, as well as, breaking news and severe weather events
  • Must be able follow multiple format clocks
  • Must be able to multitask and be very well organized
  • Operate Wheatstone Console, Wide Orbit Automation, Comrex Access, Opal, Adobe Audition, and other broadcast equipment
  • Will contribute to content prep, production, idea generation, and other duties related to the execution of content
  • Update and maintain station website and social media
  • Monitor multiple sources for breaking news, traffic problems and weather alerts
  • Send appropriate and timely listener alerts including App, EAS and NOAA
  • Help gather/generate news content for newscasts and live shows
  • Answer phones and edit listener audio
  • Create, edit, and file timely news stories for on-air newscasts
  • Must be able to handle pressure situations, various personalities, and a very quick pace 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prefer 1-2 years of on-air and production experience
  • Previous experience with Wide Orbit automation systems and radio console is a plus
  • Should be proficient in Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software
  • Should be proficient with Windows/Microsoft Office/Chrome
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to work within a team environment with a shared vision for success
  • Must be willing to learn additional skills related to producing live shows
  • Must be flexible with work hours including weekends, overnights, and holidays
  • Must have experience generating and distributing content on websites/social media platforms
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivator, troubleshooter
  • Must work well under pressure
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
