Job Description

  • Principal Landscape Architect

  • Full Time

  • Location : San Diego, CA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience

  • California licensure required

  • Proven track record in business development

  • Excellent knowledge of landscape construction documents

  • Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp

  • Strong design and construction administration skills

  • Independent decision-making ability

  • Leadership and supervisory experience

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles

  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, public agencies, and internal teams

  • Local experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage team members, including assigning and reviewing work

  • Ensure quality control and adherence to deadlines

  • Prepare cost estimates and assist with graphic presentations

  • Apply design principles to guide project outcomes

  • Manage project schedules and budgets

  • Prepare contracts, scopes of work, and fee proposals

  • Engage regularly with clients and public agencies

  • Lead large and complex projects from start to finish

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Strengthen brand recognition and drive financial growth

  • Prepare proposals with a clear vision and approach

  • Build and maintain client relationships across the development industry

  • Represent the company at conferences, meetings, and industry events

  • Set and achieve business growth targets

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, proactive environment with minimal supervision
