Position Description

The Butterfield Park District is seeking a tech savvy, creative, and data driven Marketing & Communications Specialist to grow visibility, increase program participation, and elevate the District’s brand within a competitive regional market.

This hands-on role blends digital marketing, SEO, social media, email campaigns, website content, and print production , including 3–4 full-color program guides annually . The ideal candidate is a strong writer, visually minded, and comfortable using modern tools including AI to create content that performs.

This position begins part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and optimize content for the District website, email campaigns, and social media
  • Apply SEO best practices, including headlines, subheadings, and long tail keyword strategies
  • Design and produce program guides and marketing collateral (print and digital)
  • Manage email marketing campaigns using Constant Contact or similar platforms
  • Develop marketing materials to promote programs, services, and special events
  • Create or support short form videos, carousels, and visual storytelling content
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve engagement and results

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign
  • Experience with SEO, social media, and digital content strategy
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms
  • Tech savvy, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Comfortable learning and using new tools, including AI supported marketing platforms
  • Experience creating short form video or carousel content desired
