Position Summary



This is an advanced level for positions responsible for developing and effectively conducting high level insurance company policy form and rate reviews with a primary focus on Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance lines and a secondary focus on life insurance and annuities. This position is responsible for administering and enforcing Wisconsin statutes and administrative rules relating to insurance policy forms and rates. This position conducts analysis and produces reports of both internal and external company data relating to policy forms/rates.

This position reports to the Rates and Forms Section Chief and performs work under general supervision.

Salary Information



Starting salary for the Insurance Examiner-Advanced will be between $34.00 - $41.00 per hour, plus great benefits. This position is also eligible for the $1.00 per hour AIE and CIE add-on. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-02. A 12-month probationary period may be required. Current state employees will be compensated in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan.

Job Details



Due to the nature of the position, OCI will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. OCI does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

This position has potential for a combination of telecommuting and in-person work after an initial training period has been completed. Some travel may be necessary, including out-of-state travel. All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin.

Qualifications



Minimally Qualified candidates will have education, training, and/or experience with all the following:

  • Conducting detailed review and analysis of a confidential nature such as reviewing compliance and audit reports and/or rate and policy form filings.
  • Applying insurance laws and/or regulations to regulatory compliance issues.


Well qualified candidates will have
education, training and/or experience with the one or more of the following:

  • Analytical tools, databases, and other technology such as Excel, Tableau, or SERFF.
  • Developing workflows or procedures.
  • Obtained or working toward an insurance designation in one or more of the following: Accredited Insurance Examiner (AIE) designation/Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE): Specializing in property-casualty, Associate Professional in Insurance Regulation (APIR), Professional in Insurance Regulation (PIR) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation.
  • Experience analyzing Property and Casualty and/or Life and Annuity insurance rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
