Job Description

Multi-Craft is looking for a Crane Supervisor. The Crane Supervisor is responsible for the oversite of the crane group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Must be able to perform duties of Crane Operator and Rigger job descriptions.
2. Ability to communicate with new and existing customers to build a strong and lasting relationship
3. Establish wages for department consistent with local trade specific wages. Award wage increases based on performance measurements, established milestones reached and value the employee has added since the last evaluation.
4. Identify and address training needs for the overall strength of the department.
5. Educate departmental employees, explain and enforce company policy.
6. Authority to hire and terminate if necessary
7. Cooperate and coordinate with other departments in all aspects, establish High Agreement and respect it.
8. Review and address usage and needs for equipment, cell phones, fuel, credit cards, etc.
9. Review cost and management of consumable items and inventories as well as space requirements.
10. Promote safety and improvements. Review any accident with the employees.
11. Open honest communication with department personnel.
12. Encourage and assist in continuous improvement projects
13. Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties
14. Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties
15. Drive a vehicle to various jobsites throughout working hours a. Maintain valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company policy
16. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
17. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance
18. Perform other duties as assigned

ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavations
• Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single story and multi-story buildings
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
• Must be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including standing and/or walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying
• Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities
• Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner

This position is designated as safety sensitive position because it requires the regular handling of highly sensitive and confidential Company and Client information. Performing this job in a discreet and professional manner requires alertness at all times. Any lapse of attention could have a significant financial impact on the Company and its Clients.

Additionally, this position is designated as safety sensitive because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle and working around heavy equipment and machinery. These positions are ones in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety and health of yourself and other personnel, you must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while working around heavy equipment and machinery.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Must have College degree and/or 5 years of practical industrial/commercial construction project knowledge
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have good decision making and problem solving capabilities
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate clearly with other employees.
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Must have strong math skills
• Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
• A current valid driver’s license is required
